Maharashtra Chief Minister uddhav Thackeray has tendered his resignation, putting a seal on the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), on Thursday evening. The resignation came after the Supreme Court retained the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s decision to face the floor test on Thursday.
Addressing on facebook immediately after the Supreme Court announced its decision, Thackeray stated that he is tendering resignation as as the Chief Minister and also as legislator. Thackeray chaired the last cabinet meeting in the evening .
Thackeray in an emotional speech thanked Nationalist Congress Party and Congress for supporting him during his tenure as CM.
Referring to deployment of huge police force and CRPF posse, he appealed to his supporters to maintain peace and let the defactors enjoy their sins of ditching founder of Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray and his Son (Uddhav).
Those who reaped benefits of the party, which allowed a small worker to become a leader, cheated the party for personal benefits. Thackeray appealed to the party workers to allow them to celebrate their own sins.
Thackeray said that he is not interested in any post and do not want to play the game of headcount and announced his resignation. ‘it is unfortunate that only headcount matters in the game of democracy, and not the workâ€, he added.
