Maharashtra Police has issued notice under Section 149 of IPC to a large number of Shiv Sena leaders in Mumbai and Pune. The notices have been issued in view of the scheduled floor test of Maha Vikas Aghadi Government scheduled for Thursday.
The section relates to prevention of unlawful assembly of persons. The Shiv Sena MLAs led by knath Shinde, who withdrew their support to Uddhav Thackeray, will reach Mumbai on Thursday morning.
In order to prevent any untoward incident when they travel by road from the airport to the Vidhan Bhavan or any place planned for their accommodation, the notices have been issued. Besides issuing the notices, more than 1000 CRPF personnel have been deputed in Mumbai.
Demonstrations against Shinde and also in his support and in support of Uddhav Thackeray were held in various places in Maharashtra during the last few days. Open threats were also issued by the leaders and workers in this connection. The police have geared up to control the possible riots or other untoward incidents. Police across the state have been alerted.
