Rupam Mukherji of West Bengal wins Title of with 9 points out of 10 rounds of the G.H.Raisoni Chess Classical FIDE Rating Chess Tournament which concluded at G.H.Raisoni Institute of Engineering, Wadi Hingna Road, Nagpur organised by G.H.Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation jointly with Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and recognized by the Chess Association Nagpur, Maharashtra Chess Association, All India Chess Federation and FIDE. IM Anwesh Upadhyaya and Mandar Lad share the second spot with 7 and half points to their credit.
On the Top board, Rupam needing just half point in the last round drew his game agaisnt Mandar Lad. Top Seed Anwesh Upadhyay won against Mradul Yadav of Nagpur to score 8 and half points to bag the second spot. Third Prize was won by Siddhant Gawai who scored a victory in the last round over Vivaan Saraogi of Nagpur. Indrajit Mahindrakar and Mandar Lad bagged Fourth and Fifth Position.
Rupam got richer by Rs. 50000/- whereas Anwesh and Siddhant got Rs. 30000/- and Rs. 25000/-. In addition of Main prizes, Prizes were distributed to Best Unrated, Best Vidarbha Player, Best Nagpur Player, Best Veteran Above-55, Best Woman player, Best Below-1601 Rated Player, Best Below 1301 Player.
The Prizes were distributed at the hands of Shri Girish Pandav, General Secretary, MPCC and Adv Nishant Gandhi, President, Chess Association, Nagpur. Shri S.S.Soman, Working President, Chess Association, Nagpur and Shri Bhushan Shriwas, Secreary of Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation and Chess Association, Nagpur were also present on the dias.
Shri Pramodraj Moree, International Arbiter alongwith his team of Arbiters consisting of Dy Arbiters Ajinkya Pingle and Pravin Thakare and Arbiters Shubham Soni, Amit Tembhurne, Swati Kumbhalkar, Prayas Ambade and Shishir Indurkar worked hard for smooth conduction of the event.
The G.H.Raisoni Memorial Rapid FIDE Rating Chess Tournament starts tomorrow (01/07/2022) at 9.30 am.
