At least elevent persons died in a bus accident on Monday morning. The number of the deceased is likely to increase. Deaths of eleven have been confirmed by the authorities.
A Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus fell into Narmada river from a bridge near Khalghat, Dhamnod. The Indore-Amalner bus was carrying more than 50 passengers and fell due to technical snag in the bust.
The bus fell into the river breaking the railing of the bridge, which is stated to be old one. The local people stated that the fell met with the accident while overtaking another vehicle. The details, however, have not been confirmed as yet.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has enquired about the accident, with the local authorities and assured all kind of help to the victims and survivors of the accident.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condoled the death of passengers in the accident. He also stated that information from the MSRTC authorities and Dhar district collector is being collected.
The accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh.
