A 12 year old boy drowned in a pit dug by the Railways, while playing with his friends.
A newly recruited personnel with the fire brigade jumped and brought out the body of the child.
The incident occurred on Thursday in Vairagad Wadi, near Durgamata Chowk, Dipti Signal. The name of the deceased has been stated as Prithvi Dhaniram Markhande.
The firefighter who brought the body by jumping into the 20 feet deep tank in the land belonging to the Railways, is Shrikrishna Narwade, a new recruit in the Fire Brigade.
The body was recovered after about 45 minutes of the incident.
