A day to commemorate friends, Friendship Day is celebrated around the world every year on the first Sunday of the August month.
The day which we enjoy spending time with friends, gifting them cards and wrist bands as an expression of love.
The day was first proposed in 1958 in Paraguay by Joyce Clyde Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards. Over the years, Hallmark cards made the day popular.

Rushali Meshram a student said “I am going to meet my friends. After that, we will make plans for the day. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we were unable to meet for the last two years. This year I will spend some fun time with my buddies. I Hope, rainfall does not spoil the day.
She says the day is really important to me because friendship day is for friends, and my friends are my life.

Zainab Khan another student said, “This year I will celebrate the day with family. For me every day is a friendship day we meet friends every day, spend time with them forget all the sorrows and spend happy times. For this, we do not need any special day to meet up with our near and dear friends.
Zainab message for her friends is, in this busy life enjoy the day and meet friends, enjoy life, and take out some time for yourself, for family and even for friends before corporate life takes over and makes us very busy.
Rasika Bagade said, “I have been celebrating the day since my childhood. Usually we meet and eat, and visit different places around the cityâ€.
Rasika said “We should value friendship, and she appealed that one should not break friendship for small reasons. Just make up with your friends and enjoy the day.
Rohit Gajbe said “I have special plans for the day as me and my friends have planned for a photoshoot. I am looking forward to celebrating the day even though some of us meet frequently in connection with our occupation. We make the most of our free time whenever possible.
“The day reminds me of school time how we used to celebrate the day exchanging friendship bands, rings, cards, etc,†he said.
India continues to celebrate friendship day on the first Sunday of every August. Pop culture and Bollywood references has made the day extremely popular among the youth.
It is also common for youngsters to flaunt their friendship bands.
Celebrating some occasions has become important in the fast and busy life. Meeting friends, relatives, and even family members who have started living at distant places has become difficult. The growing trend of celebrating such occasions is an alternative to the earlier social life.
