Indian Meteorological Department has issued orange warnings for Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts for August 14 predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places.
It has also issued yellow warnings for Wardha and Amravati districts on August 14 and 15 for heavy rainfall at one or two places. The yellow warnings on August 14 are for Chandrapur, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldana and Washim districts and on August 15 (Independence Day) for Nagpur, Bhandara and Gadchiroli districts.
Meanwhile, Nagpur district has received a total rainfall of 14,362.86 mm from June 1 till today while the average rainall in the district is 1,025.92 mm with percentage being 176.86. The tehsils that received rainfall above 1,000 mm during this monsoon included: Nagpur city, Saoner, Ramtek, Parseoni, Kuhi and Bhiwapur, as per the information provided by the Collector’s office on Thursday.
