Mihan was severely affected by Tuesday’s torrential rain, with several areas experiencing extreme waterlogging. The streets close to the lovely square created by Lupin in the special economic zone (SEZ) are flooded.
As per reports, to prevent waterlogging, preparations are made before the monsoon. This includes cleaning of drains but nothing of this sort has been done in Mihan for a long time.
Mihan is the state’s ambitious project which also includes a special economic zone (SEZ). The incessant rains this week have exposed the tall claims of the authorities.
It is to be mentioned here that the Central Facility Building in Mihan’s pitiful state was previously revealed. The building’s roof was dripping so badly that the IT firm employees inside had to set up buckets to catch the pouring water. Later, repairs were made to the aforementioned building.
Now that Mihan’s miserable predicament has been made clear by the excessive rains. It is unclear whether the pre-monsoon construction will start soon or if the authorities would wait until the season is over.
Sources say that the drainage system has not been properly done in the Mihan project. Many concrete pipes meant for drainage systems have been lying unused. Earlier, animal sheds were seen in the special economic zone. All these things make a mockery of the project.
