Members of Aam Admi Party (AAP) will talk out a Tiranga Rally on Sunday from Deekshabhoomi Chowk at 10.30 am to mark Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava.
Bhushan Dhakulkar, Secretary, city unit, said that the rally would passé through Lokmat Chowk, Variety Square, Sitabuldi Main Road, Lohapul, Agyaramdevei Chowk, Badiyanath Chowk, Medical College, Krida Chowk, Tiranga Chowk, Mangalmurti Lawns, Jagnade Chowk, Reshimbag and conclude at Gulab Baba Sanskritik Hall, near Lokanchi Shala, Siraspeth.
Similarly, Nagpur Municipal Corporation, which has been launching Ghar Ghar Tiranga actively, has also organised a Tiranga Gi-cycle Rally on Sunday at 6 am. It will begin from NMC HQ in Civil Lines and pass through Akashvani Square, Ladies Club Chowk, Police Gymkhana, Ramgiri Chowk, Japanese Garden, VCA Square, Bishop Cotton ground and conclude at NMC after one hour.
Moreover, CRPF organised a programme under ‘Ghar Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on Friday in which Prashant R Jambholkar, DIG Police, CRPF, distributed tricolours in GH Raisoni Engineering College while Subhash Chandra. DIG, Group Centre, CRPF, distributed national flags to citizens in Lata Mangeshkar Hospital. Kirti Jambholkar, President, Regional Family Welfare Centre, CRPF, gave away tricolours in LAD College, Shankar Nagar, and celebrated Raksha Bandhan amid ban party in which 213 women from battalion and other women were present.
In the meantime, District Bar Association has organised Walkathon as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava and to express solidarity to the nation on Independence Day at 8 am from District Court in which Judges and members would participate. It will pass through GPO Square, High Court, Metro Office, VCA stadium and end at District Court. There shall be a dress code for participants and kit is made available upon payment of Rs 250 in DBA office.
Rashtra Nirman Samiti has organised mass recital of Vande Maatram on Sunday at Sakkardara Chowk at 7.30 am in which Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, MP Gautam Gambhir, Legislator Praveen Dakte and Mohan Mate, MLA, will be the guests of honour. Adv Raman Senad, Vice-President of the samiti has appealed to the citizens to take part in the event in large numbers.
