Sensation prevailed when a leopard of around one-and-a-half years was sighted in the premises of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) situated on station road in Bhandara on Wednesday.
It is reported that Vinayak Shivaji Deshmukh, Security Guard of ITI, saw the beast in the grass near his chowky. Hair of the leopard were also found at a compound wall wire of adjoining old milk dairy.
Upon the getting information, Sandip Kadam, District Collector, Rahul Gavai, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Vivek Rajurkar, Range Forest Officer, Bhandara, Sanjay Mendhe of Flying Squad, Nadeem Khan, Savan Bahekar, Honorary Wildlife Wardens, and Shahid Khan of SEAT rushed to the spot and forestmen started investigation.
Kadam and Gavai have appealed to people to avoid going near the spot and remain vigilant.
