In a major reshuffle, Bharatiya Janata Party has dropped Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from the Parliamentary Board.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, IPS OfficerIqbal Singh lalpura, exMP Satyanarayan Jatiya, National OBC Morcha President R Lakshaman and National Secretary Sudha Yadav have been included in the Board.
The Board is highest decision-making body of the party. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Party President J P Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh are also part of the Board.
Removing Gadkari was a shock to many, as he is considered to be the best-performing minister. He was also President of the party. However, Devendra Fadnavis has been made a member of the party’s Central Election Committee.
