District Sports Office and District Hockey Association have jointly organised one day hockey tournament on August 29 for boys and girls upto 17 years of age to mark National Sports Day, Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsava and in memory of Major Dhyanchand, regarded as greatest Indian hockey player in history.
The tournament will be held at Vidarbha Hockey Association ground, adjoining Patrakar colony near Maharajbag, from 7.30 am on that day. The applications for the tournament should be submitted to the Office of District Sports Officer, Krida Sankul, Mankapur on Koradi Road, till 6 pm on August 26. Pallavi Dhatrak, District Sports Officer, has appealed to hockey teams of boys and girls upto 17 years of age should take part in the tournament in large numbers.
