Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was discharged from the hospital. He suffered hypertension in jail and fainted. He was then shifted to J J Hospital on Friday.
After treating him and ensuring his blood pressure is normal, the doctors discharged him.
Deshmukh was in jail since November 1, when Enforcement Directorate arrested him around midnight after enquiry. He is facing charges of money laundering, levelled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. In this connection, another police officer Sachin Waze was also arrested. Waze stated that Deshmukh directed him to collect Rs 100 crore from liquor shops and bars in Mumbai.
As ED submitted documents in support of the charges the court refused bail to Deshmukh. Deshmukh had to undergo treatment for shoulder pain and now facing health issues relating to blood pressure.
