The ‘Couple Not Allowed’ board from Pashan Talav area in Pune has been finally removed. This is a victory of the Right to Love for young couples.
Pune Municipal Corporation had installed the board, following complaints lodged by local people. The area was flooded with a large number of couples. Some seniors saw indecent scenes and lodged a complaint with the municipal authorities.
The Municipal Commissioner, however, had to withdraw his decision as the issue was taken to the court by Right To Love Group. The counsel for the group argued that because of the board the Municipal Corporation has stated because of the young unmarried couples in the garden, bird watching by ornithologists and others is adversely affected. The action taken by the civic authorities was against the law.
The Right To Love Group won the case and the ‘Couple Not Allowed’ was removed on Saturday. The group also requested that at least ten gardens in the city may be declared as ‘Couple Gardens’
