The National Testing Agency released the NEET results on Wednesday, with Tanishka from Rajasthan taking first place out of more than 9.93 lakh candidates who passed the medical entrance exam. There are 16 female) candidates in the top 50, including All-India winner Tanishka, who scored 715 points.
Delhi’s Vatsa Ashish Batra and Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule from Karnataka bagged the second and third positions respectively.
Rishi Vinay Balse is the topper from Maharashtra. He bagged 710 marks and was the fourth topper among boys in India. Vatsa Batra (Delhi) and Hrishikesh Gangule (Karnataka) scored 715 each to finish at first and second positions.
Errabelly Rao (Telangana) remained at third place. Among girls, Vaidehi Jha from Maharashtra was placed 8th with 705 marks. Over 17.64 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam, of which 5.63 lakh candidates cleared the exam.
Overall, the pass percentage stood at 56.28, nearly the same as last year.
Tanishka wishes to study at AIIMS Delhi. She used to self-study for 6-7 hours daily. Tanishka passed Class 12 this year with 98.6 percent marks. she has scored 99.50 percentile in JEE Main. Tanishka wants to specialize in cardio, neuro or oncology. Among the top 50 candidates, nine belong to Karnataka, followed by Gujarat and Delhi with five each; Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal threw up four toppers each: Rajasthan and Maharashtra three each; Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu Haryana two each; Punjab, Jammu, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Kerala one each.
