The 20th Convocation of Visvesaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) will be held on September 15. The Chief of Indian Army General Manoj Pande and renowned scientist Padma Vibhushan Dr Raghunath Mashelkar will be the guests.
This will be the first official visit of Gen Manoj Pande after assuming the charge of the Indian Army’s Head. Gen Pande is a Nagpurian and son of renowned psychologist and former Head of Department of Psychology, RTM Nagpur University Dr C G Pande.
VNIT will confer degrees upon 1,375 students, which includes 819 bachelor’s degree in various streams of engineering, 70 PhD, 375 Master of Philosophy, 56 Master of Science and 55 B Arch. Besides these degrees 47 students and researchers will be honoured with medals and prizes, informs Dr Pramod Padole, Director of VNIT.
