With a broad vision to promote a culture of innovation that has a positive impact on the society, vivo, the leading global smartphone brand, today launched a country wide initiative – vivo Ignite. The initiative is vivo’s commitment to take this vision ahead and empower students across India with a problem-solving approach and developing appropriate technologies, integrating, and applying scientific ideas best suited and required for addressing issues of the country.
With the understanding that early child development lays the groundwork for lifelong learning, vivo intends to offer children a challenging opportunity through vivo Ignite initiative. The application is open to all Indian students of grades 8 to 12 and will be conducted in three stages from September 2022 to February 2023. In the final leg of the contest, vivo will organize Science and Innovation Awards which will recognize innovative thinkers and the top 10 winners with cash prizes worth 25+ lakhs.

The initiative will target students in Grade 8 – 12 across India. Students can take part in the first stage called the Idea Submission Stage after successfully registering for the contest. All the registered participants will have to submit a 150-250 words synopsis of their project ideas and a poster depicting the same by the midnight of 12 th December 2022. All the nominees will be facilitated with online participation certificates. 200 selected zonal winners (50 each from North, South, East and West) comprising concept and prototype nominees will be felicitated with trophies, certificates and exciting goodies.
The Grand Finale that is scheduled for 10th February 2023 will see top 25 students battle it out at a physical event, wherein they will be asked to display their projects in-person. They will do so in presence of a panel comprising of eminent jury members. They will be judged on the basis of creative thinking, innovation, use of science and technology and potential for positive social impact. Top 10 out of 25 national finalists who present the most scientifically innovative and socially relevant projects will
be declared national winners and will be conferred a medal and a certificate with cash prizes ranging from ₹75,000 to ₹5,00,000. The remaining 15 participants will be awarded with a medal and a certificate.
