Persons or housing societies setting charging stations for electric vehicles as per the State Government’s electric vehicle policy 2021 would get two per cent concession in their property tax. Therefore, Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, has appealed to people/societies within the limits of corporation to take benefit of this novel scheme.
He pointed out that the vehicles actively con tribute in increasing air pollution because of smoke emanating and that ultimately resulted in health hazards to public. The pollution problem would be reduced to some extent by electric vehicles. The property owners/societies having set up charging stations for their electric vehicles and for others in their premises without creating problem to traffic would also get similar concession in property tax. Moreover, the tenants in the apartments would get 2.5 per cent tax concession, Radhakrishnan pointed out.
