‘Bhik Mango’ (begging) agitation will be staged in support of the demand to start recruitment of teachers in higher education institutions. Pradhyapak Bharati Samyukt Mahasangh will stage the agitation at Samvidhan Chowk, here on October 2.
The organisation has alleged that for the last 12 years the state government has stopped the recruitment of teachers. The government had granted permission for the recruitment of 2088 teachers. However, the process did not begin. The government also stated that it has no money to pay to the teachers in universities and colleges.
The colleges are being run with a meager strength of teachers. The organisation has alleged that about 80 percent posts in many colleges are vacant.
The colleges with the help of temporary teachers cannot be run properly. The organisation has demanded that the government should allow 100 percent recruitment of teachers in the universities and colleges.
The agitation is being held at various places and the money collected will be deposited with the government.
