Nagpur City slipped four places to 27th rank in ‘Swachh Sarvekshan’ 2022. A major drawback is stated to be garbage collection and disposal. Nagpur received zero marks in this category.
Nagpur stood at the 27th place out of 47 cities surveyed under the mission. Nagpur is at eighth position in the state. Nagpur was at 18th position in the country in the year 2020. It slipped to 23rd position in 2021 and now is at 27th rank, by securing 4171.92 marks out of a total 7600.
Indore city of Madhya Pradesh stood at the top for the consecutive sixth time, which is followed by Surat in Gujarat.
Although Nagpur is ahead in treatment of waste water treatment, it has failed to earn any point in collection of garbage and its disposal. It is also stated that fire at Bhandewadi dumping yard also was termed as negative point. In services category Nagpur secured 1826 out of 3000 marks; in certification 600 out of 2250 and in people’s opinion 1745.16 out of 2250.
