The administration intends to install QR codes in the city’s autorickshaws. Passengers will be able to obtain information about drivers and vehicles by scanning the QR code.
This system is already in place in Mumbai, and the state transportation department intends to implement it in all cities, including Nagpur.
“This system will provide all information about the drivers and vehicles to the passengers. When the QR code is scanned, passengers will learn the contact information for autorickshaw drivers, as well as their photo graphs, vehicle permit, and other details “according to sources.
If any autorickshaw driv er misbehaves with the pas sengers, then they can com plain by sending the details of the auto to the RTO (Re gional Transport Office). This system will ensure safe travel to women passengers and may reduce crime against them, sources said.
Responding to the issue, an official of RTO Nagpur said a meeting with the auto rickshaw association will be held soon in this regard. This system will be implemented after talking to them.
