The Microbiologist Society of India student’s unit was inaugurated on October 13, 2022, at department of Microbiology, Seth Kesarimal Porwal College of Arts and Science and Commerce, Kamptee. Microbiologist Society, India student’s unit created to promote student interest and development in Microbiology, and to advance scientific knowledge through personal associations and the interchange of ideas. The program began with lighting the traditional lamp and welcoming the dignitaries seated on the Dias with mementos and saplings. Seated on the Dias were the guest speakers Dr. Sanjeev Patankar, National Coordinator, Microbiologist Society, India, Dr. Vinay N. Chavan, Principal, Seth Kesarimal Porwal College, Kamptee, Dr. Ratiram Chaudhary, Head, dept. of Chemistry, Dr. Mahesh Jogi, Mr. Suraj Kombe, Assistant Professor, dept. of Microbiology and President of the student’s unit Mr. Mohammad Uzair.
The guest speaker was introduced to the audience by Ms. Abha Manapure, Assistant Professor, dept. of Microbiology. The nominated all 14 members of the student’s association “Super-Microbugs” were also felicitated by giving MSI membership certificate and rose sticks at the hands of dignitaries. On the occasion Principal, Dr. Vinay N. Chavan expressed his views and congratulated students for their initiative.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by the guest lecture by Dr. Sanjeev Patankar, National Coordinator, Microbiologist Society, India, on the topic Bio-Innovation and Bio-Entrepreneurship. In his lecture he introduced the different aspects of Bio-Entrepreneurship and emphasized that zeal great idea are the only ingredients in a recipe for business startup. He inspired and motivate the students to work hard and start a new venture through adequate forward planning and the execution of the plans by showing the various example of successful Indian Bio-Entrepreneurs.
The guest lecture was followed by the vote of thanks which was proposed by Dr. Neha Deshattiwar. The program was conducted by Ms. Aditi Patil, Vice-President of the students unit from B.Sc IIIrd year, Microbiology and she assured that the students will organize various events and activities throughout the year. This whole program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Alok Rai, Head, Dept. of Microbiology. Present on the occasion were Dr. Sudip Mondal, Dr. Vikas Kamdi, Dr. Dipti Bhabra, Mr. Nishant Burade, Ms. Alka Saroj, Ms. Mayuri Pande and other staff members. The program got special support from Shyam Barapatre and Shailesh Ramteke.
