As a step towards improving security of train passengers the South-East-central Railway is installing CCTV in train coaches. Besides security of passengers any suspicious activity can be detected easily through the CCVT camera footage.
So far the system has been installed in 110 LHB coaches, 72 EMU coaches and eight DEMU coaches. The Railway Police and administration will be able to take suitable action.
SEC Railway has installed passenger trains Durg-Nizamudin-Durg, Hamsafar Express (22 coaches), Korba-Amritsar-Korba, Chhattisgarh Express (38 coaches). Bilaspur-Bhagat Ki Kothi-Bilaspur Express (13), Bilaspur-Pune and Bilaspur-Chennai Express(06 oaches), Bilaspur-Patna and Bilaspur – Ernakulam Exp (04 coaches). Durg – Nizamuddin Samrak Kranti and Durg-Jammu Tavi (16 coaches) and 11 space coaches.
The project also includes Ballarshah-Godia MEMU(12+ 12 coaches; Chanda Fort – Gondia (MEMU (12), Gondia-Jhansugda MEU (12); Jhansugda-Gondia MEMU (12) , Kevati-Raipur DEMU (8) and 12 spare coaches.
CCTV will also be installed at Railway Stations and Platforms. About 360 CCTVs will be installed at 12 Railway Stations.
SEC Railway has also provided Helpline number for women facing any problem during the travel.
