The queen of Tadoba, Maya, also known as an enchantress, and tigress of Andhari Tiger Reserve was seen walking around while holding one newly born cub in her jaw.
The fortunate tourists happened to sight this world-famous tigress during a morning safari from the Kolara gate in the core zone.
The tiger cubs are born small, blind, and weak. They are born with all their stripes. They are very vulnerable to danger at this age.
Sighting of any tigress while holding a newly born cub in the jaw is very rare in any forest as the mother tigress will not want to be kept in sight while moving her cubs.
The tigress always keeps moving the cubs in order to avoid unnecessary attention from the predators such as leopards and wild dogs. She does this until the cubs start walking by themselves.
