Municipal Commissioner, Radhakrishnan B, along with Additional Commissioner, Ram Joshi, Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste) Dr. Gajendra Mahalle, and other officials visited the Bhandewadi dog shelter in order to improve the shelter.
Dr. Mahalle, in conversation with The Live Nagpur, said that they want to change the look of the shelter and make it eye-appealing, and make it a beautiful place for the dogs to live in.
Mahalle also added “ we are working on a lot of things at the shelter which needs immediate attention such as cleaning of the plants, operation theatre needs a little repairing. Manpower will eventually be increased. A team has especially been assigned just for the overall cleaning of the shelter. A total of 6 workers are there in the shelter. There are over 100 dogs currently living there.”
Mahalle also said the Save Speechless Organisation (SSO) team is helping out at the shelter. They had arranged temporary lighting in Bhandewadi and other facilities.
