The leopard who was a victim of a road hit accident, passed away today early morning. In an autopsy report, all the internal organs of the animal were severely damaged due to heavy internal bleeding said the post-mortem veterinary officer, who did the autopsy at WRTC centre of Gorewada Wildlife Rescue Centre.
Post-rescue, the animal was brought to the Treatment Transit Centre (TTC) Seminary hills, for further medical examination. The veterinary team had scheduled his treatment for today as the effect of the anaesthesia would remain for 24 hours. The leopard was given all night time for settling and stabilising.
The leopard’s intestine, kidneys, eyes and lungs were already in a very bad state. The animal was hit so badly that his intestine went down towards the back leg said the source.
