A day-long forest safari in the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve’s buffer zone (TATR) will start soon. The TATR management is preparing to launch a full-day safari on an experimental basis in an effort to increase wildlife tourism.
The connecting roads will be used for the safari. Currently, two safaris are offered each day in the morning and evening.
The Moharli buffer includes a single road that runs via Adegaon, Dewada, Agarzari, and Junona, according to Tadoba management. In the core zone area, a full-day safari at a cost of 235,000 has already begun.
According to officials, the projected full-day safari in the buffer zone will cost 45,000.
The decision regarding the same was taken by the executive com- mittee of the tiger conservation foundation in its meeting held on November 7.
Deputy director (buffer) Ku- shagra Pathak is working on the nitty-gritty of the day- long safari. The safari will start once the Tadoba admin- istration decides on its routes. There are 13 entrances to the Tadoba buffer zone and most of the safari routes are inter- connected. The safari may include Kolara-Madnapur-Be- lara and Alizanja-Navegaon- Mandela routes. Currently, a day-long safari in Tadoba Core costs ₹35,000 for Indian tourists. It includes entrance fee, Gypsy and guide charges.
Though the safari route hasn’t been confirmed, the TATR administration has fi- nalised the Adegaon-Devada- Agarzari route, sources in- formed. Tourists can enjoy safari from morning till even- ing and stay in Agarzari.
There will be a huge in- crease in the revenue of the Tadoba administration with this move. Resort operators have predicted that hotels and resorts on the Adegaon- Devada-Junona-Agarzari route will get a boost and the locals will also benefit from this decision.
