Padmashri Dr.Rani Bang from SEARCH Gadchiroli is serious but stable at the Central India Institute of Medical Sciences in the city. She is undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage (intracranial bleeding) since Monday.
Dr.Bang suffered from a brain hemorrhage on Sunday at Gadchiroli. She was rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences at Wardha the same day where she was attended to by Dr.Ulhas Jajoo and Dr.S P Kalantri and given all necessary preliminary treatment and shifted to CIIMS.
Dr.Bang’s elder son Dr.Anand Bang told Nagpur Live that though his mother is still serious, her condition is stable. “We are praying for her speedy recovery,” he said.
Dr.Dinesh Kabra, a neurologist at CIIMS said that she is responding to treatment but her condition continues to be serious.
Dr.Abhay and Dr.Rani Bang are known to the world for their work on checking infant mortality. Their model of treatment has been accepted not just in India but by UNICEF and WHO and is also being replicated in Africa.
