“Audit Endurance Run of 10 km was organized, as a part of Audit day celebrations from 14th to 30th Nov 2022, so as to reach out to as many stakeholders as possible, by A.G. (Audit), Nagpur on November 19, 2022”.
The Audit run and Audit had a common aspect “As Running improves a health of a person, Audit improves the health of the Economy, and also Audit is a vaccination against the malice of corruption, irregularities, and inefficiency, for development and progress of the nation.”
Lilaram Bawne clocked 34 minutes in open men (up to 40), Rita Tarare clocked 44 min 30 Seconds in the open women (up to 40), Datta Kumar Sonawle clocked 44 minutes 20 Seconds in open men (above 40) while Pramila clocked 1 hr 3 min open women (above 40) to be crowned Winners in their respective categories.
The run was flagged off at 6:30 am by Mr. Praveer Kumar, Accountant General (A&E)-II, Maharashtra, Nagpur. 400 plus runners including the office staff and fitness enthusiasts participated in the run sporting provided white T-Shirts printed with the departmental logo and motto. The nomination for participation in the Audit Run had been called for through the online website and advertisement through the F.M radio channel for the event.
The audit Run started from the office of the Accountant General (Audit)-II, Maharashtra, Audit Bhawan, Civil Lines, West High Court Road and covered a distance of 10 k.m through Md. Rafi Square – Japanese Garden Square – Centre Point School – TV Tower Square – Vayu Sena Nagar – Telankhadi Hanuman Mandir – C.P. Club – Mother diary – Walker Street – Police Gymkhana – Ladies Club – Police Bhawan – Audit Bhawan. The runners completed the race waving hands, with spectators clapping and cheering them. All registered participants were given medals after the race.
In the prize distribution function, Mr. R Thiruppathi Venkatasamy, Accountant General (Audit) welcomed the runners and briefed them about the working of the Audit office to the audience. Ms. Manimozhi, Dy. Accountant General introduced the Guest of Honour, Mr. Praveer Kumar, Accountant General (A&E), Nagpur who in his address told that Audit run had a common aspect as “Running improves the health of a person, whereas Audit improves the health of Economy, and that Audit is a vaccination against the malice of corruption, irregularities, and inefficiency, for development and progress of the nation. Ms. Pallavi Holkar, Sr. Dy. Accountant General introduced the Chief guest, Mr. Amitesh Kumar, Police Commissioner, Nagpur, who in his speech congratulated the medal winners and all the participants who stressed hard to complete the race and went on to distribute the cash prizes of Rs 5000 (1st Place), Rs 4000 (2nd place) and Rs 3000 (3rd place) to the Podium finishers in each category.
Shri Ranjit Sharma conducted the proceedings while Shri Naresh Kumar Manne, Dy. Accountant General proposed a vote of thanks.
Mr. Dinesh Mate, Sr. Dy, Accountant General (A&E), Ms. Sunita Gunashekhar, Dy. Director (Audit), Finance and Communication, Nagpur, Mr. Shankar Narayanan, Addl. Commissioner, CGST, Rajendra Joshi, Jt. The Commissioner, Income Tax, participants, and a large number of the office staff were present on the occasion.
The event was managed by Race Director, Mitesh Rambhia and his team. Various committees from office staff worked hard for making the event a grand success.
