The process of granting Grade-A tourist and religious place to Deekshabhoomi, should be expedited. The instructions were issued by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday. Fadnavis took several decisions on issues related to Nagpur, during a meeting held in Mumbai.
BJP State Unit President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, legislators Pravin Datke, Sameer Meghe, Vikas Kumbhare, Mohan Mate, Ashish Jaiswal, Krishna Khopde, Tekchand Sawarkar, former minister Sulekha Kumbhare and senior officers attended the meeting.
Dragon Palace on Kamptee road and Shantiwan will also be given the money for development. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Convention Centre will get Rs 22 crore and Rs 7.76 crore for Shantiwan, Fadnavis announced.
Fadnavis announced that Rs 118 crore will be given for renovation of Sant Chokhamela Hostel. Under the new proposal the hostel building could be of 13 floors, which can accommodate about 1,000 students. The proposal for increased expenses for development of Sant Jagnade memorial should be submitted for government approval, Fadnavis stated.
A proposal of Rs 1506 crore for upgradation of equipment for disaster management, Fire Brigade, repair of NMC’s Town Hall, Balasaheb Thackeray Cultural Hall, Devadia Hospital, Nandgram Project and other issues were also discussed. A presentation on protecting historically important buildings of the District Collectorate, Tahsil Office and Divisional Commissionerate and development of new buildings was also made.
The major issues include development of Truck terminals on Umrer Road, Kamptee Road and Amravati road; , buildings of IGGMCH and GMCH, development of Ramtek’s Gad Mandir premises etc.
