By scanning the QR Code the plants will themselves provide information about them. The novel project in Chandrapur, started by Van Prabodhini was inaugurated by Maharashtra Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar.
The name of the project is ‘Talking Tree’. The plants in the Van Prabodhini can be identified using the mobile phone. Information about all the plants can be had scanning the QR code. The information has been made available in audio-visual mode in different languages. The QR codes have been installed in a plate near the plant.
Speaking on the occasion Mungantiwar said that the method should also be used in the proposed Botanical Garden in Visapur. He congratulated the Director of Van Orabodhini Shriniwas Reddi.
Forest officials Shailesh Tembhurne, Mahip Gupta, Prakash Lonkar, Director of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Jitendra Ramgaonkar, Prashant Khade, Advisor Mangesh Indapawar and others were present.
