Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, Chetna Tidke issued a press note notifying traffic diversions in the city on several routes from midnight of December 11 to 1.00 pm on Sunday for the Prime Minister’s visit to the city.
During the visit of VVIPs to the city on Sunday, vehicular traffic will be stopped or diverted at various places. Chetna Tidke advised the citizens to plan their routes accordingly as the road leading to the airport will be remained crowded till Sunday afternoon. Additionally, the citizens are urged to use the Santra Market Route to reach Nagpur Railway Station.
Entry of heavy vehicles going to Wardha via Amravati Road and towards Amravati via Jabalpur Road will be barred from Zero Point to Samruddhi Expressway ( Toll Plaza) and Hingna Village to Zero Point. Traffic going to Wardha via Amravati road will be diverted to the Butibori route through Kanholibara. Traffic from Wardha coming to Nagpur city will be diverted from Butibori.
During the fleet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, traffic for the general public on roads: Railway Station flyover, Tekdi Road, and from Shreemohini Complex to the railway station, will be closed near the West Gate of the Nagpur Railway Station on Sunday. PM Modi will be in the city for a slew of programs, including the inauguration of Samruddhi Mahamarg, AIIMS, Vande Bharat Train, and Nagpur Metro Rail.
Traffic will be completely restricted near the railway station from 7.30 am to 10.30 am to allow smooth movement of the public, PM’s convoy, and his security.
To avoid last-minute inconvenience, police have appealed to the train passengers having bookings on Sunday to use the East Gate of the Railway Station ( Santra Market side). The shops at the West Gate of the railway station will remain closed.
