Following the guidelines issued by the Central Government, the Municipal Commissioner, Radhakrishnan B has ordered a thermal screening of all the passengers coming from the international flights at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in the city.
Despite the limited evidence for its effectiveness, thermal screening at points of entry has increasingly become a standard protocol in numerous parts of the globe in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is sought to determine the effectiveness of thermal screening as a key step in diagnosing COVID-19 in a resource-limited setting.
Covid testing of the passengers coming from all the international flights to Nagpur city starts today. City welcomes six international flights every week.
With the increase in the threat of the coronavirus, the municipal commissioner reviewed the protocols on Friday as per the directions received from the Central government.
