Primary assessment for Covid-19 in the city has revealed that there are around 7000 beds in the city. Of the total beds, 750 are in the NMC-run hospitals- Indira Gandhi Rugnalaya (IGR), KT Nagar, Panchpaoli, Isolation, and Ayush at Sadar.
NMC is currently very well-equipped when it comes to oxygen.
During the early Covid-19 pandemic, Nagpur city was very much dependent upon jumbo cylinders and hence had to face a severe crisis. Currently, Nagpur has its very own oxygen-generating plants.
NMC at present has a total of 1000 staff dedicated to Covid-19, but is simultaneously willing to increase it as and when required.
