Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) tested its preparedness through mock drill for any major outbreak of COVID-19. On Tuesday, the civic body, as per instructions from the Central Government, geared up its machinery to test its readiness in case there is massive inflow of patients.
The manpower and machinery at the COVID-19 designated hospitals of NMC were checked and ticked off right corners as everything was found in order. The mock drill was conducted in more than 90 hospitals, including all Government hospitals, municipal hospitals and pri- vate hospitals in city.
Officials of NMC visited some hospitals and reviewed the arrangements in place, especially one relating to availability of oxygen and related matters.
The stock of medicines in the hospital were also taken stock of by the officials during the course of drill. An inspection of all the medical devices required in accordance with treatment of COVID-19 patients was also thoroughly checked. Citizens should get tested regardless of any symptoms related to COVID. In terms of safety, the munici- pality has also appealed to citizens to use masks while going to crowded places.
