Following a spike in incidents on the recently inaugurated Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg, some commuters have encouraged passengers to exercise caution and take precautions to avoid accidents and other unforeseen circumstances. The following are the important points:
- Before travelling, bring enough water and food.
- Drive slowly, preferably within a hundred.
- Before travelling, check the tyres of the vehicle and, if possible, fill nitrogen air in the tyres.
- Before beginning the journey, thoroughly inspect the vehicle’s oil and fuel levels. Even if the car is equipped with cruise control, your focus should be on the road ahead.
- Since Samruddhi Mahamarg is still in construction, it is preferable to preserve all utilities. A petrol pump is 200 kilometres down this highway. At the moment, there is no shof.
- Drive safely by paying attention to the condition of the tyres; otherwise, the cement road could cause them to burst and cause an accident.
- Preferably every two or three hours, stop the car for 20 minutes so that the engine and tyre temperatures can slightly decrease.
- Car tyres are not suitable for cement roads. Therefore, if the speed is high, these tyres immediately burst. So, even though it’s a highway, don’t go too fast. 120 km/h at most.
