- KK (1968-2022)
Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died in Kolkata. He was 53 years old and survived by his wife and two sons. KK performed at a concert organized by a college at Nazrul Mancha in south Kolkata for almost an hour in the evening. The singer survived a massive heart attack after his concert. He is best known for his popular songs like Zindagi Do Pal Ki from the Kites, Aankhon Mein Teri from the movie Om Shanti Om, Khuda Jaane from the movie Bachna Ae Haseeno, Tadap Tadap from the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
- Sidhu Moose Wala (1993-2022)
The famous iconic Punjabi singer was shot dead in broad daylight by unidentified assailants and now the assailants are being linked to the case of Vicky Middukhera. Some of his hit numbers included: Game, Warning Shots, Legend, Tochan, and Famous.
- Bappi Lahiri (1952-2022)
Legendary singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri passed away at the age of 69. He had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight. Bappi Lahiri was known for popular disco music in India in the 80s and 90s. He delivered popular songs in several films of the late 1970-the 80s like Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, and Sharaabi. His last Bollywood song titled Bhankas was for the 2020 film Baaghi 3.
- Lata Mangeshkar (1929-2022)
Legendary singer Bharat Ratna late Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6, 2022, due to multiple organ failure aged 92. From the 1940s to the 2000s, veteran singer late Lata Mangeshkar’s work touched many souls and her contributions to the Indian music industry earned her honorific titles such as Nightingale of India, Queen of Melody, and The Voice of India. Besides setting a Guinness World Record, numerous awards and honors have been bestowed upon her for her outstanding work and contribution to the Indian music industry.
- Tarsame Singh Saini AKA TAZ (1967-2022)
Taz’s music was known for its fusion of Traditional Asian melodies with a Western pop sensibility. Some of his most notable works include Pyar Ho Gaya, Nachenge Saari Raat, and Gallan Gorian. He died on April 29, 2022, due to an illness. Taz rose to fame with his album ‘Hit The Deck’ in 1989.
- Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (1938-2022)
Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma passed away in Mumbai after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 84 and is survived by his wife Manorama and sons Rahul and Rohit.
- Sandhya Mukherjee (1931-2022)
Veteran Bengali singer SaNDHYA Mukherjee died following a massive cardiac attack at a private hospital in Kolkata. She was 90 and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law.
