Santosh Sahu, a 40–45-year-old man, tragically died on Thursday morning by jumping off the sixth storey of the Seven Star Hospital on Jagnade Square.
Dr. Prashant Rahate, one of the directors of the Seven Star Hospital, told The Live Nagpur that “The man leaped off the sixth story at around 10.30 am, which is also where our cafeteria is located. The brother of the deceased was treated at our hospital and then was discharged about a week ago. We are unable to comprehend the man’s motivation for jumping out. After the event, we reviewed the hospital’s CCTV footage and noticed the man rushing in the direction of the cafeteria and terrace. There were some people in the café when the incident occurred. The hospital’s CCTV footage has been submitted to the police.”
“We are completely surprised by this situation, and the hospital has nothing to do with this,” Dr. Rahate continued.
This is a really tragic event, said Police Inspector Nandan Nagrale of Nandanvan Police Station to The Live Nagpur. The PI also verified the deceased’s name and age. The body has been taken to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) Nagpur for a post-mortem, he continued, and more information is awaited.
