Carrying negative RT-PCR reports will be mandatory for people arriving in India. The report must have been issued 72 hours before boarding a plane.
The Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandvia has issued a notification to this effect which is applicable to people coming from China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore. The decision will be in force from January 1, 2023.
The negative RT-PCR report will have to be uploaded on the portal of the air travel facility. The decision has been taken in view of the growing cases of Corona infection in these countries. Before issuing the notification Mandvia held a virtual meeting with pharmaceutical companies.
