The government has agreed to install a speed gun on Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Mahamarg on January 1, 2023, as part of measures to prevent accidents there. In the coming year, it will begin to operate.
The maximum speed for automobiles will be 120 km/h, and drivers who exceed the speed restriction will face consequences. Samruddhi Mahamarg had two accidents happen very away after it was inaugurated. On similar motorways across the nation, similar mishaps have happened.
In order to review the preventative steps, the State Transport Department called a meeting on Friday at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Nagpur. Rajendra Patil, the additional transport commissioner, presided over the meeting.
Patil interacted with RegionalTransportofficersand their deputies of Nagpur city, Nagpur Rural, Amravati, Aurangabad, Nagpur East, Wardha, Buldhana, Washim, Jalna, Shrirampurto share ideas, suggestions and receive the same.
Patil said, “We have realised the aspect of accidents. Unlike other expressways, we thought that we should take measures to prevent accidents on Samruddhi. Speed is one of the major factors. To control the speed, the Speed Gun will be installed at 8 places on Samruddhi Mahamarg between Nagpur and Shirdi. Those who violate the speed limit will be challenged immediately. Proper action will be taken against them.”
