Former MP and Bollywood actress Jayaprada surrendered in MP/MLA court of Rampur on Wednesday and applied for bail through a lawyer in the court. Jayaprada was granted bail on furnishing a bail bond of Rs 25,000.
Jayaprada is facing charges of violation of code of conduct twice. The MP-MLA Special Court had ordered arrest warrant against Jayaprada, as she failed to attend the court.
On Wednesday she surrendered in the MP-MLA court at 10 am. Advocate Sandeep Saxena representing Jayaprada said that today she has been granted bail on a bail bond of Rs 25,000.
Jayaprada is accused of inaugurating a road in Noorpur village on April 19, 2019, even after the model code of conduct came into force. A video of this went viral on social media. After this, Flying Squad Magistrate Neeraj Kumar filed a case against Jayaprada for violating the code of conduct.
The second case was related to Jayaprada making objectionable remarks while addressing a public meeting.
After investigation in both the cases police filed the charge sheet in the court. The hearing of both the cases is going on in the MP-MLA court. Jayaprada had been skipping the court in this matter.
