On Tuesday evening, a woman took to Twitter to complain about airport security asking her to remove her shirt during the security check. She claimed she was humiliated and questioned why a woman had to strip in order to pass through security checks.
According to media reports, security agencies responded by saying they would check the CCTV for details and questioning why she did not file a complaint with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) or the airport police.
“I was asked to remove my shirt at Bengaluru airport during security check,” the woman tweeted on Tuesday evening. It was extremely humiliating to stand at the security checkpoint wearing only a camisole and receiving the kind of attention a woman would never want. @BLRAirport. “Do you really need a woman to strip?”
Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru responded to the woman’s tweet by saying they “deeply regret the inconvenience caused.” The response went on to say that “this should not have happened.”
