According to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, recruitment for up to 40,000 available positions in urban civic bodies in the state will begin soon.
Ahead of elections to major municipal corporations in the state, he also asked the civic bodies to focus on the upgradation of health and education facilities in their jurisdictions.
According to a press release, Shinde was speaking at a conference of urban local bodies.
According to the CM, there are more than 55,000 open positions in civic organizations, and the hiring process for 40,000 of those positions will shortly begin.
The chief minister also gave the employees instructions to make sure that permissions for building activities could be obtained online.
Officials should focus on boosting the revenues, the CM said. He also called for facilitating the sale of products manufactured by women’s self-help groups.
