Judge G P Deshmukh of the district sessions court dismissed Ajit Parse’s request for pre-arrest bail on Thursday. Parse is accused of defrauding Dr. Rajesh Murkute of 4.36 crore under the guise of obtaining for the college thousands of rupees from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Kotwali police reported a crime under sections 384, 420, 465, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC, but they did not make an instant arrest of the suspect. He spent a lot of time in the hospital on admission. He submitted a plea to the court in the interim asking for pre-arrest bail.
In another case, Parse duped Manish Wazalwar, director of Wazalwar Driving School, of Rs 18 lakh on the pretext of providing CSR fund. An FIR has been registered at Ambazari police station in this connection. This case has been handed over to Crime Branch for investigation. Cops had found stamps of National Insignia, Police Department, banks and Income Tax Department and other objectionable material from Parse’s house. Adv Abhay Jikar represented the State in the court.
