Umesh Yadav, an elite Indian bowler, was defrauded by his friend-turned-manager of Rs 44 lakh, police reported on Saturday. The Koradi Police are in charge of investigating the incident.
Umesh Yadav, a 35-year-old resident of Shivaji Nagar, recruited his friend Shailesh Dutta Thakre, a 37-year-old resident of Flat No. 46 at Model School in Koradi Area, to handle his funds while the former spends more time playing cricket across the nation.
However, the accused Thakre defrauded Yadav of Rs 44 lakh under the pretext of purchasing real estate in Koradi’s MSEB Colony.
The Koradi police have charged accused Thakre with violating sections 406, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in response to a complaint made by Yadav. The hunt for the accused continues.
