A Nagpur RPF official said on Saturday that the pantry car manager of the Pune-Howrah Azad Hind Express was detained for using an LPG cylinder to prepare food.
A team from the Railway Protection Force discovered food being cooked in the pantry car on Friday using an LPG cylinder. The RPF seized two LPG cylinders.
According to the official, the accused manager, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was detained in accordance with the Railway Act.
Notably, in order to prevent any unforeseen incidents, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) had already asked that all pantry cars attached to mail and express trains stop using LPG cylinders for cooking.
