In response to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s plea for the approval of Rs 100 crore to upgrade as many as 300 grounds in the city.
Devendra Fadnavis, the Maharashtra deputy chief minister, promised on stage that he will sanction the specific amount.
The amount will be provided by the state government for the development and maintenance of the city playgrounds.
The improvement of the grounds would include solar-powered lights, clean water to all grounds, construction of changing rooms at all grounds, a small viewer gallery and washrooms at all grounds, and a tree plantation.
Fadnavis said, “ Inspired by the work plan, I announce that the Maharashtra Government, who had provided Rs 50 crore last time, will sanction an amount of Rs 100 crore this time to fulfill the dreams of our beloved leader, Nitin Gadkari.”
