On the 74th anniversary of Republic Day, January 26, 2023, the Nagpur City Police’s traffic division fined 5,7002 riders for breaking traffic laws while under the influence of lofty enthusiasm. The city traffic police have even obtained a Rs. 5.43 lakh fine from the violators.
On Thursday, the Nagpur City Police Department fined 5,702 motorists (mostly young people riding two-wheelers) for breaking the rules of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Chetna Tidke, traffic police personnel undertook the drive in all 10 zones and issued challans worth Rs 5.43 lakh.
Populated spots like Futala Lake, Seminary Hills, and Ambazari Park, where drivers, especially those on two wheels, engage in hooliganism every year, were on the radar of the police.
