Maharashtra’s float in the Republic Day parade has bagged the second prize. The float of Uttarakhand was declared the winner, while the float of Uttar Pradesh stood in third place.
Maharashtra depicted three Shaktipeeth as a part of the main theme of ‘Nari Shakti’ (women’s power). The Shaktipeeth of Mahalaxmi Mandir, Kolhapur; Tujalabhavani Mandir, Tuljapur; Renuka Devi of Mahur and Saptashrungi Devi of Wani in Nashik district were showcased in the float.
