The new format of the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination will be enforced from the year 2025. The decision to defer the implementation of the new format was taken by Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday.
A large number of aspirants staged demonstrations against the decision to bring about the change in 2023. The students had argued that the notice for changing the format was too short and they were preparing for the important examination for the last two to three years.
The examination for recruitment at various levels will be descriptive type from 2025. The present format wants the examinees to answer objective-type questions.
A large number of students in various parts of the state staged demonstrations on Tuesday, in support of their demand of deferring the changes. They have welcomed the decision of the Maharashtra Government to postpone the implementation of the changes by two years.
